Street Smart Youth Project

Georgia Campaign for Adolecent Power and Potential

Georgia Campaign for Adolecent Power and Potential

Street Smart Youth Project (SSYP) is based in Atlanta, Georgia and was founded in 2008 by Monique Terrell to benefit the young people of under-served communities. It is a community with goals of accepting all different people, educating young people on pursuing their goals through education, creating passion for empowering young people, and developing a belief in the possibility of change. These goals are achieved through community events, providing food, doing health screenings, and most importantly, with education. As long as the youth within communities can be educated on taking care of themselves and being part of a community, they can be succesful. Street Smart Youth Project is an amazing organization and community.

The Georgia Campaign for Adolecent Power and Potential (GCAPP) is an organization dedicated to the wellbeing of adolecents so that they are capable of amking the best decisions for their future as they prepare to become adults. The organization was founded in 1995 by Jane Fonda and now makes a positive impact on around 60,000 young people each year in Georgia. By educating and empowering youth through training and community events, GCAPP is setting the young men and women of Georgia on the path to a succesful and happy future. Unlike many other organizations that strive to improve the lives of young people, GCAPP has a strong focus on ensuring that teenagers are socially well, as a good social life makes for a happier experience.

Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement

The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement was created with the goal of bringing equality to people of all races and making people more aware of inequalities between groups of people. There is a large focus on ending discrimination and unfair treatment within schools, the justice system, and the business world. In 2016, the organization was founded off of a hope for ending social injustice, primarily focused on racial and ethnic grops. There is injustice of this topic in schools, where teenagers reside on a daily basis. Therefore, the AADM works tirelessly to ensure that all young people, regardless of race or ethnicity, are treated with social equality.
